Tina Turner renounces her U.S. citizenship

Tina Turner renounces her U.S. citizenship

American singer Tina Turner reportedly renounced her U.S. citizenship to become a Swiss citizen. She has lived in the Zurich suburb of Kuesnacht since the mid-1990s and speaks fluent German.

The local Zuerichsee-Zeitung newspaper said on its website that the local council announced its decision to grant the 73-year-old Turner citizenship in an official notice published in Friday's edition. The decision still requires formal approval from state and federal authorities.

Turner’s rep did not respond immediately to ABCNews.com’s request for comment, but she told Zuerichsee-Zeitung that the singer wanted to “clarify her situation”.

“Tina Turner will therefore also give back her U.S. citizenship,” her rep told the Swiss newspaper.

After the announcement, Turner told German newspaper Blick, “I am very happy in Switzerland and I feel at home here. I could not imagine a better place to live.”

The singer, who has sold 200 million records, first came to Zurich with her longtime partner, German music manager Erwin Bach. They live in a lake house called Chateau Algonquin.

Beyonce Lip-Synced the National Anthem at Obama's Inauguration

Beyonce Lip-Synced the National Anthem at Obama's Inauguration, Beyonce, lip synced
The Grammy-winning singer stayed silent amid a media storm over whether she lip-synched her flawless version of "The Star-Spangled Banner" to hundreds of thousands of people in Washington and millions watching on television.

A spokeswoman for the US Marine band first told news outlets on Tuesday that Beyonce "decided to go with the pre-recorded music at the last minute" and that, to the spokeswoman's knowledge, she was not actually singing the anthem.

They also said the band and Beyonce had no chance to rehearse together before Monday's inauguration "so it was determined that a live performance by the band was ill-advised for such a high-profile event.

"Each piece of music scheduled for performance in the Inauguration is pre-recorded for use in case of freezing temperatures, equipment failure, or extenuating circumstances," the Marine Band added.

Her representatives did not return calls for comment yesterday. Kelly Clarkson and James Taylor, who also performed at the inauguration ceremony, both sang live, their publicists said.

Naked eBay Seller, Woman Accidentally Reveals Too Much in Photo

A woman has been dubbed the 'Naked eBay Seller' after accidentally posting this photo on her auction page to sell a dress.

Horrified Aimi Jones, 21, quickly spotted her embarrassing gaffe after viewing her post on the auction site. She goes under the username 'sugartit_2' and she put the mustard yellow Asos dress up for bidding with a photo taken on her smartphone camera.

The waitress removed the picture in which she wears just a bra but it had already been seen and was posted on Twitter and Facebook.

“I put it on eBay last Saturday morning and realised straight away so ended the sale. But what I didn’t realise was that people could still see it on the site."

“I reported it to eBay and they took it down, but by then it had gone viral. I’ve had messages from Australia and the US saying nice things but there are some nutters.”

Aimi, from Oxford, posted the size 10 dress on eBay again on Monday — this time with herself pictured fully clothed.
