Muammar Gaddafi killed at Sirte
TRIPOLI, (SANA): Former Libyan president Muammar Gaddafi was killed by rebels in Sirte here on Thursday after taking over the hometown of former Libyan ruler.
According to the reports Qaddafi was captured in seriously critical condition who later on could not succumb to injuries; meanwhile the defence minister of Qaddafi, Abu Bakar Younis was also killed by the rebels.
National Transitional Council official Abdel Majid Mlegta told media earlier that Gaddafi was captured and wounded in both legs at dawn on Thursday as he tried to flee in a convoy, which NATO warplanes attacked.
“He was also hit in his head,” the official said. “There was a lot of firing against his group and he died.”
Meanwhile the Arab TV channel released the two pictures of Qaddafi one was taken before the killing and second was taken after the killing.
Meanwhile, the supporters of Muammar Gaddafi rejected the claim of national transitional forces.
According to Arab TV channel the corpse of Muammar Qaddafi has been transferred in Misrata; meanwhile the interim council said that the Moatasim Qaddafi has been arrested from Sirte city, adding that the spokespersons of Qaddafi, Musa Ibrahim has also been arrested from Sirte.
According to the NATO the entourage of Muammar Qaddafi was attacked their way to Misrata on Thursday morning; meanwhile NATO in a statement said that a priod of dictatorship has been ended with the death of Qaddafi.
On the other hand the Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said that the war has been ended in Libya after the killing of Muammar Qaddafi.
It is worth mentioning here that the ruling tenure of Qaddafi continued nearly for 42 years.
