Dirty Dancing Remake Did You Like it?

 

 

ABC's Dirty Dancing remake premiered on Wednesday night, it is a romantic drama that centered around Johnny Castle played by Colt Prattes and Frances "Baby" Houseman played by Abigail Breslin. It was a remake of the big screen movie in 1987 to the small screen in 2017. The original 1987 Dirty Dancing movie was played by Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey.

Critics and TV bloggers hated the remake of Dirty Dancing saying it was lame and bland. Dirty Dancing is an iconic film an entire generation watched Johnny and Baby fall in love in a very artistic form.

The remake is still set in the summer of 1963, for the most part it really does stay true to the original. Baby still carried a watermelon. She still left that corner. They still did the lift.

Nicole Scherzinger played the part of Penny, the dancer who needs an abortion. Debra Messing is Baby’s mom, Marjorie. She’s depressed that her husband is ignoring her, that the fun and love has disappeared from their marriage. Modern Family star Sarah Hyland is Baby’s sister, Lisa,

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Topped Weekend Opening

 

 

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 is the first of three Marvel movies this year. With fan's building excitement with this film, the gang of Star-Lord (Peter Quill), Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Groot and Rocket easily beat the "Fate of the Furious" on top. "Fate of the Furious" have been on the top spot for the past three weeks.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 have already earned more than $160 million overseas, and with the film opening in 4,347 locations in North America, the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel is positioned to do quite well, early estimates showed Friday that it will cross the $150 million mark.

The movie was able to garnered $17 million in Thursday preview grosses alone which is the third largest for a Marvel title after “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” with $27.6 million, and “Captain America: Civil War,” with $25 million. It’s the biggest preview number for any title this year.

The 2014 film was a relatively unknown property that managed to smash records for the month of August when it opened with $94 million on its way to $333 million domestically and $440 million overseas.

James Gunn directed the “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” from his own script, the movie has a price tag of about $200 million.
