"American Sniper" Hit $59.3M for the 2nd Week while "Boy Next Door" Is having a surprising Run "Mortdecai" Flop
Clint Eastwood's "American Sniper" looks like they can take as much as $59.3 million in its 2nd weekend for a domestic total of nearly $200 million. If it did it would be the 2nd highest weekend ever for a film in January. This is really big numbers for a war-hero film. The movie had huge support from the conservatives and it also got boost from 6 Oscar nominations, which includes best picture and best actor Bradley Cooper.
At 2nd spot in the Box Office is Jennifer Lopez's thriller "The Boy Next Door". Surprisingly, the movie is doing well and is on its way to make $16.5 million. "The Boy Next Door" is a domestic-erotic thriller directed by Rob Cohen and written by lawyer Barbara Curry.
"Mortdecai" Johnny Depp's R-rated comedy is a dud with $5.8 million for the weekend. The $60 million budget "Mortdecai" will be the 3rd bust of Johnny Depp following Transcendence and The Lone Ranger.
