LOS ANGELES — Charlie Sheen appeared on the Today show and told the world that he is HIV-positive. He revealed on NBC’s Today show with host Matt Lauer.
Hollywood publicist and crisis manager Howard Bragman told People magazine that representatives close to Sheen approached him 6 months ago to deal with the crisis, but he never dealt with Sheen directly.
Sources said that Sheen is getting treatment, and a lot of people in his life know about it. A report also said that it has been going on for quite a while. Sheen is not necessarily comfortable talking about it. It was very hard to get up the courage for him to talk about it.
Charlie Sheen, 50, has long struggled with substance abuse and has admitted in the past to soliciting prostitutes.
